Updated: May 22, 2019
Kobolt Growth Advisors have worked alongside Nat Rothschild and the Executive Team at Volex Plc to place Alan Taylor as their Group Human Resources Director.
Having taken the tech-manufacturing business through a dramatic turnaround and tripling of market-cap in the last three years, the team returned Volex to profitability in the financial year up to April 2018. The AIM listed group has revenues of $322m (as reported in the same year), 7000 FTEs globally and is now strongly positioned for growth through technological innovation and consolidation within key market segments.

Having transitioned the business into growth mode, Volex have now appointed Alan Taylor as Group HR Director to support them on the next stages of their journey.
Alan arrives from DS Smith, the FTSE 100 global packaging business, where he has spent the last 5 years working in both global Human Resources and Health & Safety Director positions. Most recently Alan operated as the HR Director for the Group's Global Plastics Division, which currently has 26 manufacturing locations across the globe.
Alan also spent a year operating, at first, as the Interim Group Human Resources Director and then as the Interim Group Health and Safety Director for the FTSE 100 business. Since 2017 Alan has also worked as Director of HR Transformation leading the digital transformation of people processes across DS Smith's 30,000 employees globally.
Alan has been mandated to ensure that Volex has the organizational capabilities in place to ensure the business is ideally positioned for global growth.
Alan commented: "I am delighted to be joining the Volex team at such an exciting time for the Company. The opportunity to help such a distinguished Executive Team get its people agenda right was something that I simply could not turn down".
Nat Rothschild, the Executive Chairman of Volex Plc, said: "I am thrilled that Alan has agreed to join Volex and help us develop the right organisational structure, people skills and reward structures to motivate our work force and to continue to grow our business. The recruitment process was well managed by Kobolt and we met some exceptional candidates.”
